COMING SPRING 2025: FRIENDS OF ANASTASIA STATE PARK’ SEA TURTLE ADA INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND

The Friends of Anastasia State Park are proud to announce that we have successfully raised our goal of $200,000.00 for the Sea Turtle ADA Inclusive Playground Project by obtaining grants, and donations from many local businesses and private citizens for this very special playground project.

It is with great pride we’d like to report that with each “New and Old Friend’s Donations” we have exceeded that goal. It has been with the idea that with the support of our community and that no donation was neither too small nor too big our fund-raising project would be a success.

This Sea Turtle ADA Inclusive Playground will feature wheelchair accessibility, sensory and ground level play activities ensuring access for all and host thousands of children each year.

It is our belief that inclusive play is beneficial for all children. It allows the opportunity for children living with disabilities to experience the positive impact that play has on their development and overall well-being. It allows non-disabled children to view the world through a more diverse lens. Social interaction naturally happens during play, contributing to greater acceptance, the breaking down of barriers, and the fostering of friendships.

This new and engaging Sea Turtle Inclusive Playground will be built adjacent to the Sea Turtle Pavilion enhancing Anastasia State Park’s experience for all visitors.
