DESCRIPTION:There is no better way to celebrate than with friends; and we would like to celebrate with you! Every year we hold an Annual Friends of Anastasia State Park meeting. This meeting of Friends gives us an opportunity to let you all know what we have accomplished at our State Park in 2019 and what is being planned for 2020. \n2020 is a very special year – Florida State Parks is having a birthday – we are celebrating 85 years of service – we are planning a big birthday celebration in March while Anastasia State Park celebrates our 71st birthday (yep Anastasia State Park was established in 1949). \nWe can also use your help – we currently have several committee and board member openings\, please inquire if interested. \nPark admission is free for Friends and attendees of this event. While we can’t guarantee a dolphin sighting\, we certainly can guarantee a beautiful stroll on the beach and a gathering of active learners!\nPlease dress for the weather and meet at the Island Beach Shop & Grill pavilion located at the end of the main park drive. DESCRIPTION:Come join us for a walk on the beach and fresh ocean breezes while you help pick up trash to keep our beach beautiful and safe for guests and wildlife! \nPlease dress for the weather and bring sunscreen\, bug spray\, water and any other items that will make your hike more enjoyable. If you have your own set of gloves or 5-gallon bucket\, please bring them so we can reduce our own waste. Rubber gloves and trash bags will still be provided. \nPark entry is free for participating volunteers! After the cleanup\, you can enjoy a lunch at Island Beach Grill or relax on the beach and admire your hard work. \nTo join\, please meet at the beach parking lot near Island Beach Grill where you will sign-in to participate in the program. Please check in at Anastasia Watersports 15-30 minutes prior to departure.
