Educational Programs at Anastasia Park
Anastasia is dedicated to bringing quality educational programming to Florida school groups, which support grade level Sunshine State Standards.
These walks are offered for all ages. Adapted to any age or comprehension level, these hour long walks are informative for all.
School Environmental Education Programs
Available for student groups and can be adapted to any age or comprehension level. Submit a fee waiver request letter to the Park Services Specialist and receive free entry into the park for the educational program (Florida schools only).
Junior Ranger Program
Kids learn about the ecology of the park and how to be a ranger with this self-guided packet. Materials available at the ranger station.
Led by a park volunteer, these fun and informative walks are open to the public and to birders of all levels. Please dress for the weather (hat, sunscreen, etc.) and bring binoculars and a field guide if available. Meet at Island Beach Shop & Grill at the end of the park road.
Ancient Dune Trail
Enjoy this 0.7 mile loop trail at Anastasia State Park. This is your chance to take a quieter, meditative walk through the diverse habitat of the maritime hammock. A map of the trail can be found at the Ranger Station.
Most programs are free with paid park admission. For more information on any the above listed programs, please call the park at (904) 461-2035. The park strives to be accessible for all. Please inform the park if you require assistance during your visit.
“Music in the Park” events September 2, 2017
Come enjoy music in the park! Bring your family and friends to enjoy music from local musicians in a casual and laid-back atmosphere. This jam session is open to the public and welcome to any and all musicians who would like to join in. Come and go as you please any time between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at Island Beach Grill.

“FREE DAYS” – Free Admission to all Florida State Parks
The Florida Park Service occasionally offers free entry days, including our very own Anastasia State Park. Check the calendar for the dates of this year’s free days.
Ride for the Wild Side
This unique charity ride teams up with several state parks and CSOs. The course takes motorcyclists through some of the east coast’s finest state parks and unique Florida ecosystems, with the final destination and celebration being Anastasia State Park.
The participating CSOs split the profits at the end of the event. The event takes place yearly in March, coinciding with Daytona Beach’s Bike Week. Please visit www.arideforthewildside.com or www.facebook.com/RidefortheWildSide for more information.
Celebrate your love of the Earth by participating in environmental education activities at the park. Enjoy displays from local organizations as well as guided hikes, games, crafts, and other activities. This event takes place yearly in April. Endless Summer Run
The 10k (6.2 mile) portion is a cross country run through Anastasia State Park’s beach, hammock, and salt marsh, taking you through some of St. Johns County’s most beautiful terrain. The 5K portion is over 90% on Anastasia State Park’s beautiful beach with the same finish line as the 10K. Both the 5K and 10K are timed for a low tide.
Participants must be fit to run or walk on soft sand, uneven terrain, mixed pavement types, and hills with sun exposure, heat, and humidity, etc. This event takes place yearly in September. Please visit http://www.endlesssummerrun.org or www.facebook.com/EndlessSummerRun.
