Come discover your local public lands and learn about the important natural and cultural resources within them!

Come to Anastasia State Park at 10 a.m. for a special presentation by the Crescent Beach Ladies’ Beekeeping Collective! Learn about the importance of bees to the ecosystem, view a real bee hive, and even sample some honey! The program will be approximately 30 mins, with a Q&A to follow. Regular Park Entry Fees apply.

Next, join Fort Mose Historic State Park (only 15 mins away) for hands-on Exotic Plant Round-Up from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.! This volunteer opportunity will help rid the local natural areas of invasive plant species. Removing these invasive plants will help preserve the natural diversity of the natural Florida wildlife. Participation Requirements: Volunteers will need to bring gloves, wear long pants, comfortable shoes and be prepared to get dirty. Water, trash bags, and bug spray will be provided. Park entry is free for this event.

Finish off your family’s adventurous day in your public lands back at Anastasia State Park for a special guided evening walk through the Historical Old Spanish Coquina Quarries from 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. This informative program with a fun and knowledgeable ranger will bring the history of the quarry to life, as you learn about the amazing work that occurred in the Old Spanish Quarries and the architecture that influenced the history of Saint Augustine.
